John Ash, AIA
Firm Principal


Mr. Ash has over 25 years experience as a registered architect and principal of his own architectural firm in Los Angeles and Eureka. Over his career, Mr. Ash has worked in historic preservation, retail, hospitality, entertainment, restaurant and commercial design. He has developed innovative approaches to maximizing the potential of a site.  The spectrum of his experience includes historic preservation and adaptive reuse to new contemporary projects.  Some of these projects include: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Alex Theater, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Ennis House, Olvera Street Monument, Filmore Theater, and the El Capitan Multi-media Theater in Hollywood. Mr. Ash is a leader in generating economic development through creative reuse of buildings. He has been involved with the design of over 40 such projects, and is a pioneer in adapting buildings to live/work use. John Ash has focused his career on the design management and access to our environmental resources.

Dick Gee, AIA, LEEDTM AP (Accredited Professional)
Principal-in-charge

Dick Gee has twenty years of experience in architectural practice.  He joined JAG Architects in 1990 and has been the lead Principal of the Los Angeles office since 2000.  Dick has a diverse range of experience. Over the course of his career, he has worked on arts, medical, retail, restaurant, entertainment, commercial and residential projects.  He has extensive experience in historic rehabilitation and adaptive re-use, working on many significant historic projects in the Southern California region.  He served as the project architect for the El Capitan Building in Hollywood, the U.S. Post Office Terminal Annex in Los Angeles, the Miles Playhouse in Santa Monica, the Walker House (San Dimas Mansion) in San Dimas, St. Vibiana Cathedral and rehabilitation of the historic buildings of the Pechanga Tribe.  He also worked on such historic resources as the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the Olvera Street project.  He is the recipient of three California Preservation Foundation (CPF) awards.  Dick graduated with a Bachelor degree in Environmental Design from U.C. Berkeley in 1988.  Prior to joining JAG Architects, Dick worked in the San Francisco area at the firm Fong and Chan Architects.  During that time, he was involved in numerous hospital and laboratory projects for San Francisco General Hospital, Stanford University and U.C.S.F.  He is a LEED AP and the firm’s director of sustainable design.  He is also the project architect for the Madame Tussauds project in Hollywood, adjacent to the Chinese Theater, which is currently under construction.

Deborah Teltscher, AIA, NCARB
Project Architect/Designer


Deborah Teltscher has twenty-five years of experience managing projects from initial design through construction administration. Her experience includes custom residences, hotels, recreational facilities and school master plans, as well as preservation and adaptive reuse of historically significant buildings.  Recent projects include the renovation of a nineteenth century mansion for the City of San Dimas, renovation of an early home in the Hollywood hills, the Bell house by John Lautner, a retail conversion and historic preservation of nineteenth century ranch buildings for a private developer in Temecula, and custom residences in Santa Monica, Brentwood and Eureka, CA.   Prior to joining JAG Architects in 2003, Ms. Teltscher held senior design and management positions at Appleton & Associates and Studio of Architecture, and for over ten years was Managing Principal of the Choate-Teltscher Partnership. Her work on the La Posada de Albuquerque Hotel renovation with Peter Choate was recognized with the Bainbridge Bunting Award of Merit from the Albuquerque Conservation Association and an Honor Award from the New Mexico Society of Architects. In 2007, her design for a Craftsman-style home of a Hollywood director in Santa Monica was published in the book, The New Classicists. Over the years, she also has contributed pro bono design work for Tucson Community Design Center, and Overland Avenue Elementary School in Los Angeles.  Ms. Teltscher is a graduate of Princeton University (A.B. magna cum laude) and the MIT School of Architecture + Planning (M.Arch.).

Tim Green
Project Manager


Tim Green brings 5 years of development experience in managing projects from conceptual design through construction administration.  His experience includes, designing, CAD drafting, city permit processing and the project implementation with full construction oversight.  Tim brings a wonderful understanding of the entire process and has many skills across the board to help manage the client experience to the highest level.  Tim received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Woodbury University in 2005.  He is truly as passionate about architecture as he was in his previous life as the starting quarterback of the USC Trojan football team.  He led USC to a Pac 10 and Rose Bowl Championship and was named co- MVP of the 1985 Rose Bowl.  He continues to show his leadership daily for JAG Architects.
